Iconic folk-rock singer Neil Young may be searching for a heart of gold, but he’s stopped searching for a home now that he’s purchased a Los Angeles eco-cottage for $3.6 million.

The hater of all things Monsanto scored the home from his girlfriend Darryl Hannah, who also happens to be an actress, documentary producer, and a hardcore environmental activist. Hannah bought the 17.6-acre property in two separate transactions for $1.32 million in June of 2001.

The “Sense8” and “Splash” actress first listed the home back in April 2011 and then again in March of 2013, but it didn’t sell until her now-boyfriend made the leap in an off-market deal.

Located in the mountains above Malibu, the plot holds two solar-powered homes, a 1920s former hunting cabin, and a rustic shack covered in corrugated metal. One of the main homes also sports under-floor heating and an indoor/outdoor bathroom complete with a Japanese soaking tub.
