The Beverly Hills mansion belonging to entertainment industry titan Chris McGurk sold in a hush-hush manner in an off-market deal for $16 million. It’s not a bad profit for the current Cinedigm Chairman and CEO who purchased the property in 1996 for $3.77 million.
The 0.75-acre plot McGurk offloaded is positioned around the corner from the Beverly Hills Hotel and features an 11,500-square-foot Tudor-style house that holds six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
The interior also includes a grand entrance foyer with Parquet de Versailles-style inlaid flooring, a formal living room, a family room, and a separate dining room. Outside is a pool and spa, a lighted tennis court complete with a viewing platform, and a trellis-covered dining terrace.
According to the listing agent, Brett Oppenheim, the home is set to undergo an 18-month, multi-million dollar renovation to be completed by Los Angeles-based architect Richard Landry and internationally famed designer Thomas Pheasant.
McGurk is also apparently attempting to sell his beachfront estate at the end of a gated street near El Matador State Beach in Malibu. That six-bedroom, seven-bathroom house is also trending off the market with around a $9-million price tag.
