Furniture and clothing designer James Perse has just listed his fully furnished Malibu, California, home for $12.995 million.
The Point Dume-area mansion may be beachside, but it sports a farmhouse aesthetic. Spanning 7,400 square feet, the home holds 6 bedrooms and is set on nearly 2 acres. Perse’s estate also holds a two-car garage, a 50-foot-long swimming pool, and keyed access to Little Dume Beach.
Purchased in 2013 for $6.69 million, this home is actually just one of three Malibu homes owned by the famous designer. This particular estate was purchased as an investment and was thoroughly renovated, complete with furnishings, to embody an “old-world kind of farmer charm.”
Inside, visitors will find a variety of antiques in addition to custom items and pieces from Perse’s own furniture collection. Some of the designer’s favorites are the antique wooden trestle tables and a custom shuffleboard made specifically for the game room.
Unfortunately, the $12.995-million price tag is just for the home itself. Buyers hoping to snag the unique furnishings can expect to pay an added $750,000 to $1 million. Individual pieces from the home can also be purchased separately.
