Blancpain has created a throwback to one of its original best sellers based on the Swiss brand’s Bathyscaphe diving watches of the late 1950s. Meet the new three-handed Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe.
Being a diving watch, the new Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe is water-resistant up to almost 1,000 feet and features a luminous index on the unidirectional, plasma gray ceramic bezel to make the timepiece easier to read during a dive.
The Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe features Blancpain’s self-winding caliber 1315, which is visible through the watch’s sapphire crystal caseback and gives the timepiece a five-day power reserve.
There are two strap options for the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe: a three-ring NATO strap or one made of sail canvas. The Blancpain watch costs $12,860, with the rose gold version fetching a $25,000-plus price tag depending on the strap choice.
