An Upper West Side condo belonging to former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell recently sold for a little over $2.8 million.
The New York City space was officially owned by the Alma J. Powell Revoc Trust. Alma is the name of Powell’s wife, and the trust purchased the apartment for $1.88 million in 2007. Powell’s unit is a unique two-bedroom prewar apartment with a modern chef’s kitchen that boasts walnut and marble countertops.
Not much else is known about the layout of the apartment as if it was a matter of national security not to divulge too many listing details. It is know, however, that the Powells own another unit in the same building and also own a living space in Washington D.C.
Colin Powell was the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and a four-star general before assuming his role as the 65th secretary of State under former President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005.
