Garmin has just unveiled its newest wearable to rival competitors like Fitbit and Jawbone. The all-new Garmin Vivosmart HR+ is more than a step-counting band with a bevy of added features.

The biggest improvements to the Vivosmart are the GPS tracking, heart rate measurements, and an added chest strap. It’s still able to track user’s sleep and allows them to connect to Garmin’s digital community.

Garmin’s Vivosmart GPS feature allows users to track their distance and time their activities with increased accuracy, which makes it ideal for runners who might need auto pausing and distance-based lap timing options.

Although stacked with advanced new features, it’s still missing functionality like metrics tracking for balance, stride length, or cadence, which most of Garmin’s fully featured watches include.

Perfect for the user looking to get more active, the Vivosmart HR+ includes Move IQ, which automatically recognizes whether the user is running, walking, swimming, cycling, or even working out on an elliptical machine.

It can also display important information to wearers like call, text, email, and calendar notifications that are marked with vibrations. Additionally, wearers can locate their misplaced phone or control their music.

With a battery that can last up to five days and a starting price of $219.99, the new Garmin will surely compete well against the Fitbit Blaze.
