The home of the late and great king of pop is now on the market. That’s right, Michael Jackson’s Las Vegas manse is now available for $9.5 million.
As luxurious and avant-garde as expected, Jackson lived in the home from 2007 until his untimely death in 2009. Surprisingly, Jackson didn’t actually own the home but opted to rent it as a private space away from the public eye.
Nicknamed the “Thriller Villa,” the 24,276-square-foot walled-in mega-mansion sits on 1.7 acres and was actually built in the 1950s in Mexico by theater owner Horst Schmidt. It was moved brick-by-brick to its Las Vegas home and a 2,983-square-foot guest house was added to the lot.
The 7-bedroom, 12-bath Mediterranean home was re-imagined after Jackson’s death and is now a shrine to its famous tenant with luxe stylings, artwork of Jackson himself, and even a replica of the boy in the moon statue that’s found at Neverland.
Additional features include a full-floor master suite, a private art gallery housed in the 8,500-square-foot basement, a tunnel entrance for private access, and an incredible two-story medieval-style chapel with a painted sky roofcapable of seating more than 70 people .
