Relativity Media founder Ryan Kavanaugh has listed his Point Dume area home in Malibu, California, for just under $10 million. Kavanaugh purchased the almost 1-acre, gated estate for $7 million a little over two years ago from comedian and gameshow host Howie Mandel.
The 5,400-square-foot Nantucket-style home has 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, with that total not including the space in the poolside guesthouse. The house also boasts a large living/dining room, a marble-countered kitchen, an office/den, a family room, and an eight-seat private theater.
The master suite has a custom-shelved walk-in closet, a marble bathroom, and its own terrace with a stone fireplace and stunning views of the Santa Monica Bay all the way to Catalina Island.
The backyard features a dinning terrace with a built-in barbecue next to the saltwater swimming pool and pool house. Said pool house has a full kitchen and half bathroom on the ground floor and an en-suite bedroom on the upper level.
Kavanaugh has had success flipping Los Angeles-area homes before, including earning $1.75 million last year on the sale of an oceanfront Malibu home on La Costa Beach and another $1.7 million with the sale of Dennis Quaid’s former two-acre estate in a Mandeville Canyon neighborhood in 2012.
It probably helps that Kavanaugh’s mother, Leslie Kavanaugh, just so happens to be a real estate agent with Sotheby’s International Realty. She is also the agent tied to this particular listing.
