Now that California Governor Jerry Brown has moved into the historic and newly renovated Governor’s Mansion, he has listed his estate in the Oakland hills for $2.6 million.
The five-level home was built in 2006 and boats stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. Until now, it had sat vacant since Ronald Reagan lived there in the late 1960s. The 4,200-square-foot home has three bedrooms, with the master suite taking up an entire floor and including two walk-in closets, a wine cellar, and two decks.
Tranquility is at the forefront of the design of the house, with one level called the “spa level” featuring a sauna, a wet bar, a bath, and roll-up doors that lead to an outdoor deck where occupants can unwind and enjoy a little indoor/outdoor living.
The indoor-outdoor feel continues with the oversized kitchen that leads effortlessly to the living and dining areas. These areas feature a deck that again opens up to create the open-air feeling of the home.
