Swiss bicycle company Stromer has announced the availability of its new range-setting ST2 S e-bike, which is a step up from its already popular ST2 model.

The new S version features XTR Di2 wireless electronic shifting, an increase in the battery life to bring the range of the e-bike to 110 miles, and a built-in 1600 lumen Supernova headlight perfect for riding home on a dark night.

A 48-volt, 500-watt SYNO rear hub motor powers the ST2 S. With pedals assisting, the new Stromer bike can reach speeds of up to 28 mph in Move mode, and it can actually cruise at 12 mph without any pedaling in Boost mode. The aforementioned extra battery life is provided by a 983-watt-hour lithium-ion battery located inside of the down tube, which is actually slightly recharged while in use because of a regenerative braking feature.

Stromer used a 6061 Aluminum frame and carbon fork to help keep the e-bike light, but with the motor, battery pack, and integrated electronics for features like the anti-theft mode and data tracking systems, the ST2 S actually weighs in at 57.5 pounds.

The ST2 S only comes in gray, but it does come in three frame sizes (17-inch, 20-inch, or 22-inch) and will be available in specific retailers and bike shops for $9,500.
