Montblanc’s newest addition to its Patron of Art edition pens serves as a tribute to one of the world’s most significant art collectors, Peggy Guggenheim.
Peggy Guggenheim was a patron of protecting the arts of her time by building one of the planet’s most impressive and monumental collections, in addition to discovering and fostering the talented artists of her lifetime.
The German brand has shown a penchant for promoting arts and culture, and one of the 2016 Peggy Guggenheim Fountain Pen Limited Edition 4810s was awarded to Gio Marconi for his work with the Marconi Foundation for Contemporary and Modern Art, along with just over $17,000 to be donated to a charity of his choice.
Montblanc’s newest masterpiece pays homage to Guggenheim with a design scheme consisting of geometric art deco shapes in three color options paired with a back end boasting red and white stripes to mimic the mooring poles that help navigate the canals of Venice, Italy, where Guggenheim’s namesake museum is located.
