BMW’s M4 has a limited-edition sibling thanks to the German brand’s Spanish division creating a market-specific M4 called the Competition Sport.
The Competition Sport (CS) lies somewhere between the regular M4 and the track-ready GTS model BMW showed off at the Tokyo Auto Show last year. The CS boasts the next evolution of the M4’s turbocharged 3.0-liter, straight six-cylinder engine, which has been reworked to deliver 450 horsepower (20 more than the stock model). It has the same 405-pound-feet of torque as the base model, but the CS does stop the clock at four seconds flat when racing from stop to 62 mph with a top speed of 175 mph.
The CS is distinguishable from the regular M4 thanks to a carbon-fiber body kit that features a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a huge wing situated on the trunk lid. The CS also has a sport exhaust that makes sure the special-edition car can be heard.
Production of the Competition Sport will be limited to 60 examples, and the special M4 will set back future owners over $150,000. The BMW M4 CS will hit sales floors in Spain toward the end of May, and the brand says it will not offer the model in other markets.
