A new company thinks it has solved the Wi-Fi problems in your home with its new Starry Station router. The device is actually meant to be on display in a home rather than tucked away as most routers are.
The Starry Station displays the Internet Health Score for a home’s connection, which is an indicator of how the speed, service, Wi-Fi conditions, and attached devices are performing. The screen also shows how many devices are connected to the Wi-Fi at any given time and if any of those devices are having problems with a series of blue and red dots that float around the score in the center.
The 802.11ac router will also boost the Wi-Fi in a home to be up to 20 mbps faster than standard devices and uses built-in antennae to create a more powerful range.
While the 3.8-inch touchscreen is pretty useful in controlling the Starry Station, there is also a Starry app for Android and iOS devices that offers even more control over the inventive router and its services.
The Starry Station is now on sale for $349 on Starry.com, through Amazon, and in Best Buy stores. And for homeowners who have large living spaces or dense Wi-Fi blocking materials in their houses, the Starry Wing Wi-Fi extender is set to come out this fall for an additional $119.
