Big-name designers have delved into other markets in recent times, as seen with ventures like Ralph Lauren opening not one, or two, but three restaurants with the most recent being The Polo Bar in New York City. But possibly one of the most recent longest running side projects of a luxury designer is Versace’s Home collection, which has been churning out custom textile and furniture designs for interiors since 1992.
Now Versace Home is coming home and officially being brought into the arms of the Versace Group. “Versace Home has been part of Versace’s DNA since the very beginning,” said Versace CEO Gian Giacomo Ferraris. “To bring it in-house is a natural step forward.”
The first offerings of the new hierarchy can be seen in the La Coupe des Dieux chair and the Palazzo Empire sofa, with the latter being derived from Versace’s Palazzo Empire women’s bag.
Versace has worked with the Poltrona Frau Group for its Home furniture line and is working with Nemo to create its lighting options.
