Umberto Palmero, an Italian designer, has founded a small-shot car maker called Mole that will create unique electric vehicles in limited quantities. Mole will make its debut with the boutique’s first two offerings, dubbed the Valentino and the Luce, at the Turin Auto Show in June.
The Valentino is based on a Tesla Model S, and Mole has fit the car with a carbon-fiber body kit that sports a deeper front bumper with a splitter and Y-spoke accents to make it look more like a European supercar than an electric sedan.
Additional features to the Valentino also include large vertical Mole emblems, 22-inch alloy wheels, and red trim embedded in the headlights. The new company has yet to show off the inside of the Valentino, but it’s probably a safe bet that it will bear similarities to the cabin of the Model S.
The powerful Valentino has an all-electric drivetrain that creates 421 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque and shockingly has a range of 315 miles, which is about 10 miles more than the Model S 90D.
The Luce is a two-door coupe features a body made out of an entirely recyclable composite material. Mole’s smaller car receives an electric drivetrain that sends 288 horses to all four wheels, which seems very complimentary for the light 2,600-pound Luce. Mole hasn’t divulged where the Luce’s drivetrain came from.
The Valentino is a one-off vehicle destined for an electrically inclined gearhead, and the Luce is a concept car. However, Mole’s product plan for the vehicle is to manufacture 30 to 90 editions, with the examples destined for America, Europe, and Japan.
