Thoroughbred racehorse breeders George and Clare Schmitt have listed their 31-acre Lake Tahoe estate for $59 million, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint.
The Zephyr Cove, Nevada, parcel comes with about 380 feet of beach with a private pier and boat lift, an 18,000-square-foot Montana fieldstone main house that holds eight bedrooms, a two-bedroom guesthouse, a caretaker’s house, and a 15-stall barn.
The stunning main house sports a 3,500-bottle wine room with a tasting area, a home theater, his-and-hers offices, a craft room, a gym, and a game room with a bar.
Meanwhile, the barn features its own office, a wash rack and grooming area, and access to about a 13-acre meadow for the horses to roam and graze.
The Schmitts also own another home in the Bay Area and are looking to downsize to spend more time with their grandchildren in California. George has enjoyed a long career as an executive in the telecom industry.
