You Can Be Leonardo DiCaprio’s Neighbor If You Buy Kirk Douglas’ Former Palm Springs Home for $3.5M

The Palm Springs, California, retreat that once belonged to Hollywood star Kirk Douglas is now on the market for $3.45 million, and even though the 99-year-old actor hasn’t owned the property since 1999, the future owner will definitely know it was his.

The signature K-shaped pool is one indicator, and the nearby pool house is decorated with a bevy of posters of films Douglas starred in to top things off.

The 4,000-square-foot, five-bedroom Mid-Century Modern home was built in 1954 for hotel-owner Robert Howard, the son of Charles Howard who was the man who owned the legendary racehorse Seabiscuit. Douglas and his wife, Anne, bought the home not too long after it was built and owned it for almost 42 years.

The current owners didn’t make many changes to the house to preserve Douglas’ legacy, even keeping the same wallpaper as was there when they made the purchase.

Other features of the listing include a tennis court, a walled garden atrium, a wet bar, a multitude of fireplaces, and a gym. Oh, and the future owners will also be neighbors with Leonardo DiCaprio, who owns the house directly behind Douglas’ former home.
