Ford is finally ready to take orders for its new GT just a year after revealing the new supercar at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, and it will take more than sending in a deposit for future owners to get their hands on one.
Because Ford has decided to limit the GT production to 250 examples per year, prospective owners will have to undergo an application process to get their hands on the beast. Qualified applicants will be notified by GT concierge services if they are approved, and then these lucky few will need to shell out around $450,000 to secure their GT.
Ford is offering the supercar in eight colors, with seven colors of racing stripe options, and is including only four interior trim options. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 that creates about 600 horsepower, so getting nit-picky with the interior seems a little silly.
Interested parties can go to FordGT.com to start the application process, but hurry! The company is only taking orders for the first two years of production in this first phase.
