Porsche sold its vehicles like never before over the first quarter of 2016 with an unprecedented 55,974 cars officially delivered to give the German brand its best quarter in company history.
The sales pass up 2015’s numbers by 10 percent, and Porsche’s new SUV, the Macan, garnered almost half of the total sales. The automaker is calling the Macan its most popular model of the year. Porsche is crediting the Chinese market for its success, with nearly a 25-percent increase in quarter sales from that market.
This impressive quarter comes fresh off the company’s best year ever in 2015, with a 19 percent increase in deliveries from 2014. It was such a good year that Porsche rewarded all of its employees, regardless of level, with around a $10,000 bonus.
Maybe if the trend continues throughout the rest of 2016, Porsche employees will see another big check in the mail.
