MB&F teamed up with Black Badger to bring two new beautiful variations to their existing line of timepieces just in time for Baselworld 2016: the HMX Black Badger and the Starfleet Machine Black Badger Advanced Composites.
Black Badger uses a photoluminescent composite called AGT Ultra, which comes in a block form from the company Ambient Glow Technology, and then hand mills and machines it into the desired shape. In the light the composite appears clear, but in the dark the colors spring to life.
The MB&F HMX Black Badger is not exactly new. In fact, it was released just last year as a reward item available only to existing customers, and it quickly sold out. The changes made to the watch by Black Badger with the MB&F-chosen colors of Radar Green, Phantom Blue, and Purple Reign create a truly unique and futuristic looking timepiece, both in the light and the dark.
Each color of the MB&F HMX is available in a limited run of 18 pieces in either grade 5 titanium or stainless steel.
The MB&F Starfleet Machine Black Badger already looked like a small craft landed on a desk or table when the original alien-looking clock was released, but now with the touches from Black Badger, the L’Epee 1839 and MB&F collaboration now looks like a spaceship sailing through the night sky.
The clock face and other components now glow in the dark thanks to Black Badger. The Starfleet is also available in 18 palladium-plated brass editions in the three colors listed above.
