Hasselblad has announced the launch of its new H6D camera, coming in 50 or 100-megapixel versions, with the latter able to shoot 4K resolution footage.
Instead of improving on its existing H5D camera, Hasselblad built the H6D from scratch to create the new medium format camera. The Swedish company also gave the H6D a fresh electronic platform, which means the new camera sets itself apart from its predecessor significantly.
The new H6D-50c and H6D100c, with the number indicating the megapixel level in each model, come with new-generation processors to help handle large files more quickly. Both cameras come with dual card slots, one CFast and one SD, and both also feature a 3-inch viewing touchscreen with 920k dot resolutions, Wi-Fi connectivity, and USB 3.0 Type-C connectors.
The 100c can shoot 4K UHD video at 30 frames per second and shoots pictures at speeds up to 1.5 fps. The 50c can snap faster than its counterpart, with a rate of up to 2.5 fps, but is limited to shooting 2K UHD at 30 fps.
The H6D-100c is a little larger in size than its smaller sibling and costs $33,000. The H6D-50c will run future owners $26,000.
