Ascension Air is now offering customers private jet leases at $40,000 a month, which sounds perfect for the frequent flyer not looking to purchase their own plane. Travelers can rent an Eclipse 550 for particularly travel-heavy months.

The Eclipse 550 is small and sleek so it can easily be flown by an owner-pilot if desired, and now five-seat and six-seat jet options are available. Customers will also be offered access to qualified pilots ready to fly the jet in case owners aren’t interested in piloting the plane. In fact, customers have access to a safety pilot at any time for no additional cost.

Ascension Air offers lease packages starting at $40,000 for the Contrails JetCard, and it includes 25 hours of flight time. Alternatively, flyers can opt for time-share and lease options allowing for 50 flying days per year.

The Atlanta-based company’s Eclipse 550 can reach altitudes of 41,000 feet and cruises at up to 430 mph with a maximum range of 1,125 miles.
