Mercedes-Benz has taken over the 2016 New York Auto Show, and after already showing off the revamped CLA, the new GLC Coupe, and the GLC43 and E43, the German automaker has now unveiled the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet.
Serving as the competitor for the BMW M4 convertible, the C63 Cabriolet features AMG’s twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 469 horses and 479 pound-feet of torque. Though the drop top has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, it can hit 60 mph from a stop in 4.1 seconds.
There is also the S version of the new AMG, the C63 S Cabriolet, which has its V8 tweaked to pump out 503 ponies and 516 pound-feet of torque. This extra power drops the zero-to-60 time down to 4 seconds flat and boosts the top speed to 174 mph. Both C63 models have a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The cloth top is available in either black, dark blue, or dark brown and can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 31 mph.
The C63 Cabriolet will hit U.S. sales floors this fall.
