Audi has taken the roof off of the second-generation of its R8 to create the brand new convertible addition to its R8 lineup, the 2017 R8 Spyder V10.
The R8 Spyder features the same 5.2-liter V10 FSI engine that comes in two formats of its coupe predecessor, with the added benefit of hearing even more of the engine sound thanks to the drop top.
Though the new Spyder version has the same profile as its other R8 siblings, the new convertible actually has a wider stance, a more forward passenger compartment, and higher wheel arches.
The cloth roof takes only 20 seconds to store behind the passenger seating area at speeds of up to 30 mph, and it weighs a little less than one hundred pounds.
The German automaker recently took to the 2016 New York Auto Show to reveal the new R8 Spyder V10.
