After almost two decades of making luxury watches for women, Paris-based luxury brand Chanel has launched a new men’s timepiece dubbed the Monsieur de Chanel.
The new watch will have a limited run of only 300 examples, with half in beige gold and the other half in white gold.
This is no ordinary watch. Chanel met with independent and sought-after Swiss watchmaker Romain Gauthier in 2011 to get the ball rolling for its Monsieur watch line. The new timepiece is created from over 170 components and features a manual winding mechanical movement and custom-machined parts by Gauthier.
The Monsieur de Chanel will be available starting in the beginning of June with the beige gold edition costing $48,500 and the white gold watch earning a $50,800 price tag.
