David Ericsson is a Swedish designer known for creating beautiful furniture pieces, and now the designer’s newest armchair “Hedwig” doesn’t disappoint.
What makes Ericsson’s latest design so special is a combination of his unique aesthetic and the fact that he created Hedwig as a tribute to his wife Sara. The simple armchair was developed to offer her a calm and comfortable place to read and drink tea for extended periods of time. Even the product name pays homage to his wife’s childhood when she only wanted to be called Hedwig.
The simple but stunning furniture piece is bold without being outlandish due to its wooden construction and stylish stretched leather seat. Hedwig shows off its high-quality craftsmanship with a beech frame and sculptural, rounded armrests, which, of course, are perfect for holding a cup of tea.
Hedwig is produced by gärsnäs and debuted at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2016.
