Mercedes-AMG is growing its entry-level lineup with a hot-rod version of the 2017 E- Class named the E43, which will be shown off later this month at the New York Auto Show.

The E43 is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 396 horses and 384 pound-feet of torque that run through a nine-speed automatic transmission. All that power means the E43 can go from stop to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

The E43 is a little bit smoother than the E63 thanks to a 4Matic all-wheel drive system that helps with the handling of the car immensely by sending 69% of the torque to the rear wheels.

The E43 has a more muscular design than the rest of the E-Class lineup and sits on 19-inch alloy wheels. The newest addition to the Mercedes-AMG family will hit showroom floors early next year with pricing information coming closer to the E43’s release date.
