As the country mourns the loss of former First Lady Nancy Reagan, realtors have a reason to roll up their sleeves since the property she and her husband, President Ronald Reagan, lived on for three decades before moving to the White House has been privately listed for $33 million.

Located in the uber-lush Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, the one-time 4,700-square-foot home was sold for around $5 million in 2012, and that’s where its ties to the President of the United States and his beloved wife end. The purchaser paved the way for a palatial home on the 28,000-square-foot lot replacing the former family home.

Reagan decided to purchase the property back in 1953 because of its beautiful location and views of Griffith Park and Downtown L.A. It would later be the same house where Reagan jumped out of the shower when he received the call from Jimmy Carter conceding the election. The new owner kept that famous shower door and added a plaque to commemorate the moment for the rest of time.

The new home even offers homage to the Reagans with a library/office featuring a fireplace and wood paneling on the first floor, and outside there is a Presidential Rose Garden with only flowers named after Presidents and First Ladies. The completely modern home also comes with a long list of amenities such as a heated salt-water pool with an adjoining spa, an exterior kitchen with a barbeque and pizza oven, a home theater, a gym, and a professional-grade kitchen.

Before it was rebuilt: President Reagan and his wife lived in the 4,700-square-foot Mid-Century single-story house for three decades.
