Mercedes-Benz has added a lot to its C-Class line in recent years, and as was shown at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, it isn’t slowing down as with the release of three new C-Class Cabriolet models that will arrive in the U.S. later this year.
The new Cabriolet range includes the C300 RWD, the C300 4MATIC, and the Mercedes-AMG C43.
The C300 is much like its closed-roof sibling on the mechanical side, but of course is a convertible version with a soft top that folds down. The C300 line comes with only one engine, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder that produces 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque and sends its power through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Also available with Airmatic suspension, the C300 goes from zero to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds.
Of course the AMG version of the C-Class Cabriolet range is also top of the line. The C43 has upgraded design features such as AMG-specific wheels and extra chrome trim. Under the hood the C43 gets a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that pumps out 362 hp and 384 pound-feet of torque. This extra power of course adds up to more speed, which means the AMG model can rip to 60 mph from stop in 4.7 seconds, only 0.1 second slower than the hardtop model.
Pricing details have yet to be released by Mercedes-benz.
