There are some amazing supercars on the market like the McLaren P1, LaFerrari, and Porsche 918 Spyder to name a few, but few cars match the exclusiveness of the Bugatti Veyron. Now the French automaker is coming out with a model to top its own top-of-the-market vehicle, the Chiron.

The first spec highlighting the difference between the Veyron and Chiron comes in the form of almost 500 extra horsepower, bringing the new Bugatti up to 1,478 hp from its 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine. This makes the Chiron the most powerful production vehicle to ever hit the streets. A seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission handles 1,180 pound-feet of torque. The Chiron also weighs in at 4,400 pounds, but that’s without filling up the 26-gallon gas tank.

All of this means the Chiron hits a top speed of 261 mph and can go from stop to 62 mph in under 2.5 seconds, or even more impressive, it can hit 124 mph from stop in less than 6.5 seconds and hit 186 mph in only 13.5 seconds, which is three seconds faster than the Veyron.

Bugatti has limited the Chiron to 500 examples, and even with a $2.6 million price tag there have already been 150 orders placed for the new vehicle.
