Sigma has entered into the mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (ILC) market with two new cameras, the sd Quattro and sd Quattro H, which both feature Sigma’s Foveon X3 Quattro sensors and are compatible with Sigma Global Vision lenses.

The difference between the Quattro and Quattro H models is the sensor size. The H has a large APS-H sensor—30 percent larger than the APS-C sensor that the Quattro has—that Sigma says shoots photos equivalent to a 51-megapixel DSLR. Both models use a Dual True III processor, have an advanced hybrid autofocusing system, and are capable of shooting RAW.

Both the Quattro and Quattro H sport the same magnesium alloy body that makes the cameras dust and splash proof. They have also both been given a 2.3-megapixel electronic viewfinder with a 100 percent field of view.

Sigma has yet to reveal full specifications and pricing details.
