After going belly up in 2013, Spyker Cars is finally back on the map after showing off its new C8 Preliator at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show.
American aircraft company Volta Volare came to Spyker’s rescue after multiple companies decided not to purchase the Dutch automaker after it had entered bankruptcy. However, with the unveiling of the new C8 it looks like Volta Volare made a good decision so far.
The C8 Preliator features a supercharged 4.2-liter V8 from Audi that pumps 525 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque into either a Getrag six-speed manual or a ZF six-speed automatic transmission.
This power, and an ultra-light, all-aluminum space frame chassis, means the C8 is fast, hitting 60 mph from stop in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 201 mph. After getting the C8 Preliator going, AP Racing brakes help slow the speed demon down in no time at all.
Spyker claims it will only produce 50 C8 Preliators, with the manual model costing $352,925 and the automatic version priced just south of $360,000.
