Although it might not seem like it, sometimes things don’t always go a celebrity’s way. In fact, Oscar-award winning actress Charlize Theron was recently reminded of this when she sold her Hollywood penthouse at a $1 million loss.
The “Monster” actress originally purchased the apartment at the Broadway Hollywood Lofts building for around $2.75 million back in 2007 but recently sold the loft-style unit for $1.75 million.
With a bright and airy floor plan and 2,350 square feet, it’s difficult to see why the actress would take a loss, but then again, 2007 wasn’t a great year for purchasing real estate.
The beautiful loft features interconnected living spaces, super-high ceilings with exposed duct work, and stunning ebony hardwoods throughout. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed in steel offer views of the Capitol Records building and the surrounding city.
Interestingly, the top floors of the building were originally built in 1927 as a department store, giving the building a unique character, but since Theron still owns several homes in Hollywood Hills, it seems she’ll be just fine.
