The deal closed back in December, but news is now just surfacing that the one-and-only Oprah Winfrey handed over $28.85 million to purchase “Seamair Farm,” a decked out equestrian estate in the seaside community of Montecito, California.

The 23.26-acre ranch borders Oprah’s “Promised Land,” a 42-acre parcel the longtime talk-show host bought in 2001 for about $50 million. The main residence of Winfrey’s new digs is a 5,016-square-foot, multi-winged ranch house that holds four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, with each of the three other family/guest rooms sporting their own bathroom.

The master suite has a large private sitting room with built-ins, a wet bar, two bathrooms, three walk-in closets, and two offices with exterior access.

As Oprah resides in the much fancier 23,000-square-foot mansion on Promised Land, it would be really surprising if she moved into the smaller home on Seamair Farm. Winfrey will most likely give the property a makeover and then use it as a massive guesthouse, staff quarters, office space, or some other type of space based on her needs.

Seamair Farm also has three other small living spaces for caretakers, guests, or staff to go along with its large barn and multi-stall horse stable.

Winfrey recently spent $43.2 million on a 10-percent holding in Weight Watchers, and the purchase of Seamair Farm is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the 60-year-old multi-billionaire’s real estate holdings.

Winfrey also owns a 8,706-square-foot ski chalet in Telluride, Colorado, that she bought for $14 million as a place to stay while a larger house is built on a close-by 66-acre spread of undeveloped land that was purchased for $10.85 million in 2014. The media baron also owns a working farm on the island of Maui in Hawaii that she purchased for over $44 million in over a dozen transactions.
