According to rumors, two-time Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett has landed an incredible new U.K. country estate. The star and her playwright-director husband Andrew Upton scored the property for around $4.5 million.

The estate known as Highwell House sits on a 13-plus acre plot in the East Sussex area just an hour south of London. The home itself is a red-brick Victorian manor house built in the late 1800s and recently restored.

Updated fixtures and custom furnishings make the roughly 9,000-square-foot home modern and roomy with seven bedrooms and a one-bedroom staff apartment. With more than a dozen antique fireplaces and a paneled reception hall, it’s the perfect spot to host friends and family.

A 40-foot drawing room complete with bright crystal chandeliers also leads out to a black slate terrace with views of the incredible Arcadian estate’s lawns, private pond, and ancient outbuildings.

It looks like an amazing spot for the actress who’s recently received acclaim for her performance in “Carol.”
