When it was announced that Jaguar Land Rover was launching a Special Vehicle Operations program in 2014, the natural conclusion was that a beefed up F-Type would be one of the new projects.
When Special Ops came out with the Project 7 limited-edition and Range Rover Sport SVR, it was clear an F-Type from the unit would be off the wall.
Finally it appears that Special Ops has done it, with the arrival of the Jaguar F-Type SVR being announced by automotive news site Autovisie and later confirmed by Jaguar itself.
The first thing that pops off the page about the new F-Type is the sheer power boost, with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, which in the SVR will pump out 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
The F-Type SVR will also feature the same eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as the F-Type R. All that means the SVR will go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and top out at 200 mph, all coupled with an incredible titanium exhaust system.
Combined with the new engine performance is a powerful look featuring an active rear spoiler and a front splitter that not only looks cool but helps create downforce. The SVR also simply has a more aggressive look to it than the base F-Type.
The new F-Type SVR will first be revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.
