Leica X-U Is the Brand’s First Rugged and Waterproof Camera

Luxury camera brand Leica has just unveiled its first waterproof camera. The all-new Leica X-U is rugged, durable, and offers 49 feet of waterproof ability.

Guaranteed to be rustproof and shockproof when dropped from four feet, this is one sturdy piece of tech. Additionally, it’s packed with a bevy of advanced features.

The X-U sports a 16.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor with a Summilix 23 mm f/1.7 lens. An integrated flash can be found above the lens in addition to manual shutter speed and aperture control dials.

Users will be able to view their photos on a 3-inch 920k-dot LCD display in addition to enjoying a maximum ISO of 12,500 and the ability to capture 1080p HD footage at 30 fps.

Perfect for the adventurous photog, the rugged new camera is priced at $2,950.
