Lexus has been trying to stand out in the performance market for a long time, and the Japanese luxury automaker succeeds in doing just that once again with the release of the 2017 LC 500.
Based off the new flagship model that will replace the LS, the LC 500 is easily identified on the streets with a long front end and the company’s trademark “spindle grill.” It features a new infotainment system and an available Pioneer audio system that’s been fine-tuned to optimize the interior’s sound performance.
The LC 500 rides on a new rear-wheel drive platform and sports a low seating position that creates a special center of gravity.
Under the hood, the car is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 that puts out 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to the engine power and a mixture of high-strength steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber, the LC 500 can hit 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds.
The 2017 LC 500 will go on sale next year.
