Whirlpool is making the smart homes of fiction more of a reality. The brand’s appliances are now integrated with Amazon and Nest.
This means if you run low on dryer sheets, not to worry—the dryer has already ordered more. At least that’s the idea behind Amazon’s Dash Replenishment Service that’s partnered with a variety of companies.
However, Whirlpool is the first of those partners to feature Dash tech built in. Users who purchase the Smart Top Load Washer and Dryer pair priced at $1,399 each can expect their Amazon accounts to sync to a Whirlpool app that estimates how much product is left. The smart dryer can also send alerts when clothes are dry.
Nest integration also means air conditioning units can be automatically switched to Eco Mode when customers aren’t home, which saves money and energy.
Other integrated appliances in the Whirlpool lineup include a smart dishwasher and front control range.
