Segway impressed the world with their portable vehicles back in 2001 and now the tech brand has unveiled a personal robot that doubles as transportation.
Unveiled at CES 2016, Segway’s Advanced Personal Robot is a fully adaptable robot that can be ridden like a scooter. The new vehicle is the product of a collaboration between Intel, Xiaomi, and Segway and is still in the works with a developer kit arriving this year.
Equipped with Intel’s Realsense RGB-D camera, it can recognize objects and track them with built-in depth sensing. Self-balancing with multiple motors, Segway’s newest creation also features simultaneous localization and mapping.
Since the robot is Wi-Fi enabled, it’s also able to connect to users’ other devices.
