BMW just expanded their Competition Package to include the M3, M4, and M4 Convertible. This is an option already available on the larger M5 and M6 models which allows owners the ability to tack on a long list of performance upgrades and a few exterior tweaks to optimize each model for the race track.

To put things in perspective, the Competition Package gives the M models’ 3.0-liter-straight-six engine a jump from 425 to 444 horsepower. The extra power means the M3 and M4 can go from zero-to-60 mph in 3.8 seconds, 0.1 second faster than the base models.

The Competition Package also includes stiffer shock absorbers thanks to the Adaptive M suspension with three reprogrammed driving modes called Comfort, Sport, and Sport +.

On the exterior the upgrades include a sport exhaust system with pipes in a black chrome finish and special-made, 20-inch machine-polished alloy wheels with M-shaped spokes.

BMW will offer the Competition Package in the spring, but pricing information hasn’t been released yet.
