Advances in drone technology seem to be accelerating. Chinese manufacturer maker Ehang has developed the world’s first drone that can transport a passenger.
The new ‘184’ drone has been designed to carry a single passenger short to medium distances and doesn’t require a pilot’s license. Those with a penchant for air travel will also enjoy the 12-inch touchscreen display.
With the streamlined tech, users enjoy the ride while an automated flight system handles the hard work like navigation, obstacle avoidance, and air traffic communication. The computer system automatically selects the safest and fastest path too.
Of course several safety measures are included so the 184 can land even in case of propeller malfunctions. Featuring a carbon-fiber epoxy composite body and aluminum alloy frame, the new machine produces 142 hp and can reach a top speed of 62 mph.
