American furniture manufacturer Herman Miller has partnered with New York fashion label 3sixteen to develop a bespoke lounge chair and ottoman. The incredible new piece of furniture has a contemporary style but features elements of the past.

The new Eames lounge chair and ottoman was born out of months of collaborative design and sports natural vegetable-tanned leather upholstery, which was altered to darken over time.

Intended to resemble a first baseman’s mitt, a classic frame with a hand-oiled Santos Palisander wood veneer shell means it’s sure to be the centerpiece of any room.

3sixteen is only making three sets of the chair-ottoman creations and will document how they’ve aged and changed colors over the years.
