Mercedes-Benz was set to unveil its brand new 2017 E-Class series at the Detroit Motor Show in a few days, but the world was able to get a sneak peak thanks to leaked images.
The much-anticipated E-Class will fall in line with Mercedes’ current design language. The new look will include elongated grill and headlights, with the option of a sportier two-slat grill or a more classic three-slat look.
The leaked pictures indicate the E-Class’ cabin will receive a huge upgrade when it comes to luxury, especially with the new infotainment suite borrowed from the much larger S-Class.
Specs haven’t been released on the engines of the new E-Class engines, but it is known it will be a family of straight-six instead of the V6 engines that the previous models featured.
The E-Class will also sport Mercedes’ new model rear architecture (MRA), which is made out of lightweight materials—including aluminum—to help the E-Class line lose up to 330 pounds and improve the new model’s dynamics and fuel economy.
After its debut at the Detroit Motor Show, the new E-Class will hit showroom floors in time to join all of the other 2017 models later this year.
