McLaren is known for its rare supercars and for how quickly they sell. Since most models are only made in very low volumes, they get plenty of attention, as seen with McLaren’s new 675LT Spider. It’s the fastest open-top McLaren has ever built, with only 500 units of the vehicle being made, and all of those units sold only two weeks after being revealed to the world.
The supercar is built with an incredibly strong carbon-fiber “MonoCell” chassis that doesn’t require additional reinforcement, so the convertible weighs only 88 pounds more than the standard 675 Longtail. It’s powered by a strong 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V8 producing 666 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. It can also speed from zero to 60 mph in only 2.9 seconds.
The new spider was so successful that McLaren even released a new track video of the model with Formula E star Bruno Senna.
