America’s longtime favorite television host Oprah Winfrey has just purchased a new home. The billionaire entrepreneur paid $14 million in an off-market deal for a Telluride, Colorado, ski home.
Winfrey’s new home is ultra-modern with as many high-tech features as the evergreens surrounding the property. She acquired the furnished mansion from businessman and African art collector Bob Wall.
Spanning 8,700 square feet, the home boasts a mud room, a faux mining car that connects the home to a ski trail nearby, and a seven-person hot tub. The antique steel ore cart is also equipped to journey through a 56-foot-long “wine mine” so residents can warm up among 1,600 bottles of wine after a long day on the slopes.
The sleek and open interior provides plenty of light, while a host of built-in smart features like a weather station with climate control keeps residents happy and comfortable. Another unique tech feature is the ability to water all indoor plants from the touch of an iPad.
Although 5 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, a sauna, and guesthouse add to the property’s value, the most incredible addition might be the 35-foot-high outdoor tower complete with an aerial fire pit and 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape.
