Car lovers around the world are still talking about the 2015 Dubai International Motor Show. One of the main attractions was the restored 1997 Panoz Esperante GTR-1 Le Mans Homologation Special.
Taking six months to restore, the one-of-a-kind vehicle was originally built to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sporting a bold, structured exterior, the car weighs in at only 1,980 pounds with an impressive front-mounted 6.0-liter V-8 engine.
It’s not just bold, but fast too with 600 horses producing 500 ft-lbs of torque. Combined with its ZF 6-speed manual transmission and Brembo disc brakes, the unique vehicle can speed up and slow down at incredible rates. Of course the street vehicle is a bit more luxurious than its racer counterpart with an all-leather interior.
Even though only one Esperante GTR-1 Homologation Special was created, Panoz has announced that it will replicate the model with prices starting at $890,000.
