Design studio GT2P recently collaborated with New York’s Friedman Benda gallery to create a unique Marble vs. Bronze table.
Each table is digitally mapped from large slabs of marble and then reduced into shape by a water jet. Sections of varying sizes are then removed and filled with bronze to create the natural but glamorous piece of furniture.
The table legs are also bronze and extend to the haphazard globule spots of bronze that appear to be mixed in marble. Although the bronze patterns are irregular in shape, alloy coats the table sides for strength and durability.
Because of the unique process of development, each table is distinctive with a bespoke balance of marble and bronze.
With the renaissance of marble in modern design mixed with the classic styling of metals like bronze, the Marble vs. Bronze table is sure to garner plenty of attention.
