The Tesla Model X Signature Edition may have falcon doors, but that might not be enough to convince buyers to shell out the $132,000 sticker price that could also purchase a Porsche 911 GT3.
But Elon Musk’s California-based company isn’t necessarily asking future owners to break the bank as it has just announced two new more affordable versions of the Model X called the 90D and 70D.
The 90D features an all-electric drivetrain with a 259-horsepower motor and 90kWh battery pack to give it a driving range of 257 miles on a single charge. The Model X 90D can even speed from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.
The entry-level model for the Model X is the 70D, which looks much like its more expensive counterparts but is powered by a 70kWh battery to give it a range of 220 miles per charge. The new model is also fast with the ability to zoom from zero to 60 mph in six seconds.
The Model X 70D has a base price of $80,000, plus a $1,200 delivery fee. Tesla’s Autopilot system will also cost an additional $2,500. Pricing for the 90D hasn’t been released yet, but it’s rumored to be priced around $93,000.
