Japanese company Visvim has spent six months of supreme craftsmanship and has used artisanal materials from Paris to create the $8,000 Atelier Umbrella for its 2015 autumn/winter collection.
The Atelier Umbrella features unique materials such as goat leather and natural rattan cane that has been fused together with brass and beechwood. Visvim has also used a special coating technique to waterproof the skin-dyed fabric of the umbrella.
Visvim’s founder Hiroki Nakamura has re-created a sense of early Americana with his new umbrella, something he is famous for in the fashion world thanks to his Native American-themed designs on denim and moccasin-like shoes.
